The Friends of the Big Bear Alpine Zoo, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is the official organization supporting the Zoo, since 1989.

The Big Bear Alpine Zoo at Moonridge is owned, operated
and maintained by the Big Bear Valley Recreation & Park District,
a San Bernardino County facility, since 1959.
